Have I said that we are really tired? Patrick Hao was up every hour and got up for good at 4:45 A.M. This is happening almost every night. And on the other nights he only gets up 2 times. They are torturing us, this is payback for my previous life, I know it. I went back to bed and Mary stayed up with Cindy’s help. They fed him and 6:00 A.M. Patrick was asleep on the couch. Cindy watched over him while Mary went back to sleep. Have I said what a huge help Cindy has been? Mary, Lucas Ming and I got up at 7:00 A.M. Cindy was up and Patrick Hao was still asleep on the couch. We were supposed to meet another family for breakfast at 7:00 A.M., oops! I jumped in the shower and then went down to breakfast to explain what had happened but they weren’t there. I call over to their room and they had slept late too so we set breakfast for 8:30 A.M. After breakfast Mary met Jason at to go over to the US Consulate to complete some paperwork. We figured that they would have my picture posted at the door with orders to deny entry or detain on sight. And of course everything went swimmingly for Mary. It’s a conspiracy I tell you!!
After Mary got back we put the boys down for a nap. I decided to take advantage of this time and grab some shuteye too. Mary and Cindy went for a walk-a-bout. They did a little shopping and felt somewhat recharged. After all this was the first time since June 27th that they have been out and able to dictate their own schedule. They tell me it’s nice. When they got back I was still sleeping as were the boys. Finally Patrick Hao got up but he was not screaming. I couldn’t believe it when I opened my eyes and there he was sitting in his crib quietly playing by himself. This went on for about fifteen minutes and then I was ready to get up and took him with me. Lucas Ming was still sleeping. After everyone was up we went down to the “noodle place” next-door. They have good food that is inexpensive and brought to the table quickly. We did a little exploration of Shaiman Island. It was hot but not unbearable. The island is a tourist location. They have shops that cater to those staying at The White Swan and a couple of the other hotels on this small island. There are restaurants, some chic clothing stores, souvenir shops, laundry services and even 7-Eleven.
We returned to the hotel and got ready to go to dinner with the two other families that we were grouped with. We went to a Thai restaurant called The Cow Bridge. Unfortunately the single mom was still not feeling well but her travel partner (the eleven year old girl) joined us. The food was very good but I think that we could have ordered another dish. Patrick Hao was flirting with the other little girl who had been adopted on this trip. He even let her wipe his face. After dinner we went back to the hotel and Cindy went shopping and hung out with Donna.
When we got back to the hotel Mary and I gave the boys their bath. This is really fun to watch. We don’t know if they enjoy the warm water or all water. We are looking forward to getting home and introducing them to the pool. Hopefully they are coldwater fish as well as warm. Patrick Hao was a little fussy tonight. I tried to put him to sleep tonight but he wasn’t having any of it. So Mary took over. Soon after he was asleep. Lucas Ming did his normal toss/turn/fidget routine and then was out for the count. Have I mentioned how tired we are???
